Veteran free agent forward Vincent Lecavalier has agreed to a deal with the Philadelphia Flyers that, according to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, will be a five-year, $22.5 million contract.

The deal will also include a full no-movement clause.

Flyers captain Claude Giroux told TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.com that he is pleased with the soon-to-be newest member of his squad.

"Very excited, he's going to bring a lot to our team," said Giroux to LeBrun.

The former Tampa Bay Lightning captain became a free agent this off-season after his former team used a compliance buyout to eliminate his $7.727 million salary cap hit through the 2019-20 season.

The 33-year-old scored 10 goals and added 22 assists in 39 games last season for the Lightning.

He spent the first 15-years of his NHL career with the Lightning, the team that drafted him first overall in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, contributing 383 goals and 874 points in 1,037 regular season games.
Lecavalier also helped lead the Lightning to their first-ever Stanley Cup victory in 2004.

The Ile Bizard native signed an 11-year deal with the Lightning in 2008, in a deal that at the time was expected to see the team captain finish his career in Tampa Bay.

"I'm proud and honoured to be committing myself to the Tampa Bay Lightning for the rest of my NHL career," Lecavalier said after signing the 11-year contract in 2008.
