Flames sign Bouma and Byron to one-year contracts

The Calgary Flames signed left wing Lance Bouma to a one-year, $577,500 contract and centre Paul Byron to a one-year, $643,500 contract on Saturday.

Bouma suffered a season-ending injury after posting one goal in the first three games of the season with the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League. Bouma has played 135 career AHL games and has scored 16 goals and added 11 assists for 27 points and 108 penalty minutes. He also has 43 NHL games with one goal and three assist and 13 penalty minutes.

Byron netted six goals and nine assists for 15 points along with 38 penalty minutes in 38 games with the Abbotsford Heat this season. He also played four games with the Flames registering one assist to bring his career NHL totals to four goals and four assists for eight points in 34 career games.
