Head coach Michel Therrien is trying not to give up too much information the day before the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs face off in the season opener at the Bell Centre on Tuesday. Therrien would not confirm his lineup for the game, but he did have the same line combinations practicing together for the third straight day which is usually a pretty good indication of what the lineup will be.

However, the defenceman were confirmed after the team announced that defenceman Douglas Murray is out 4-6 weeks with an upper-body injury he suffered in practice on Sunday. The Canadiens do not plan on calling anyone up from the Hamilton Bulldogs to replace Murray.

"Our schedule is pretty light right now, so we don't feel like we need to call a player up," said Therrien.

Murray missed part of training camp with a lower-body injury and rejoined the team late last week, practicing as the seventh defenceman. With the injury to Murray, this will give more of an opportunity to Jarred Tinordi to make a name for himself on this team. Tinordi has shown that he has the capability to bring a strong physical presence to the Habs blueline, something that has been lacking with the absence of Alexei Emelin.

"Hopefully, the progress I made in training camp can carry over to the regular season. I'm just going to continue to play hard and physical. That's my game" Tinordi said following practice.

Not only will this will be the first NHL season opener for Tinordi, but it will also be the first for Brendan Gallagher as well. Last season Therrien opted not to dress Gallagher in the season opener, a decision he later said he regretted.
Lines from practice:
Bourque - Plekanec - Gionta
Pacioretty - Desharnais - Briere
Galchenyuk - Eller - Gallagher
Moen - Prust - Parros
White and Bournival two extra forwards
Gorges - Subban
Markov - Diaz
Tinordi - Bouillon
