Sedins highlight Sweden's roster for Sochi Olympics

Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin and Henrik Lundqvist highlight Sweden's roster for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

At 41 years old, Daniel Alfredsson is the senior statesman of the Swedish team, having represented his country at the four previous Olympics dating back to his debut at the 1998 Winter Games in Nagano, Japan.

Sweden finished fifth at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, losing a quarter-final match-up to Slovakia.

The 2014 roster features 12 returning members from the 2010 squad. That number excludes a few high-profile first-timers including former Norris Trophy winner Erik Karlsson, St. Louis Blues sniper Alexander Steen and Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog.

The Swedes will play alongside Latvia, the Czech Republic, Switzerland in Group C in Sochi.

The complete Swedish roster is as follows:

Goaltenders: Jhonas Enroth, Jonas Gustavsson, Henrik Lundqvist.

Defence: Alexander Edler, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Jonathan Ericsson, Niklas Hjalmarsson, Erik Karlsson, Niklas Kronwall, Johnny Oduya, Henrik Tallinder.

Forwards: Daniel Alfredsson, Nicklas Backstrom, Patrik Berglund, Jimmie Ericsson, Loui Eriksson, Johan Franzen, Carl Hagelin, Marcus Kruger, Gabriel Landeskog, Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin, Jakob Silfverberg, Alexander Steen, Henrik Zetterberg.

The roster includes 22 players that were invited for Sweden's summer evaluation camp with the exception of Alfredsson, Gustavsson and Silfverberg.
