The New York Islanders said on Tuesday that goalie Evgeni Nabokov will be out for at least a week with a lower body injury.

The veteran netminder was hurt during Monday's game against Dallas when he stretched to make a save in the first period. He left the game and did not return.

Kevin Poulin replaced him and also got the start against Toronto on Tuesday.

Nabokov, 38, is 9-8-5 this season with a 2.88 GAA and one shutout for the Islanders.

New York head coach Jack Capuano said Nabokov will be re-evaluted.
