Munz: Jets host Oilers in Byfuglien's 500th game on TSN Radio

The Winnipeg Jets and Edmonton Oilers conclude a three game regular season series this afternoon with a 1:00 ct face off at MTS Centre.

The Jets were 5-4 winners on October 1, while the Oilers took a 6-2 decision on December 23. Taylor Hall leads the Oilers with one goal and three assists in those games, while Dustin Byfuglien tops the Jets with four assists. Michael Frolik has a pair of goals. Edmonton's power play has scored four goals on 13 attempts in those two games, good for a mark of 31 per cent efficiency.

The Jets(21-23-5) sit seventh in the Central Division with 47 points and trail the Vancouver Canucks and Minnesota Wild by 10 points for a Western Conference Wild Card playoff spot.

Ondrej Pavelec (13-19-4, 3.05, .899) is expected to start his fifth-consecutive game in goal. He has won his last two starts allowing just three goals against.

Today marks Dustin Byfuglien's 500th NHL game. He is on a four-game point streak with two goals and four assists.Bryan Little is on a three-game point streak, tallying two goals and three assists, while Olli Jokinen has scored in back-to-back games.

The Oilers(15-30-5) also sit seventh in their Pacific Division with 35 points. They are on a three-game losing skid after dropping a 4-1 decision in Minnesota to the Wild on Thursday night.

Edmonton is winless in their last six road games (0-5-1.) Ilya Bryzgalov (3-7-2, 3.27, .902) will start in goal.
