Guy Boucher is headed overseas to continue his career behind the bench, as SC Bern announced Monday that the Swiss League club has hired him as their new head coach.

Boucher previously coached the Tampa Bay Lightning and had a 97-78-20 record over two-plus seasons.

He was dismissed by the team last March after the Lightning struggled in the lockout-shortened season with a 13-18-1 record.

Boucher, 39, was a QMJHL coach with the Drummondville Voltigeurs for three years before taking over the American Hockey League's Hamilton Bulldogs, the Montreal Canadiens' top minor league affiliate.

He led Hamilton to the second-best record in the AHL then turned down a chance to coach the Columbus Blue Jackets before joining the Lightning.
