Steven Stamkos will not return to the Tampa Bay Lightning's lineup until at least March.

Stamkos, who has missed 41 games with a broken right tibia, told members of the media on Monday that he will not play with the Lightning on their upcoming road trip.

Stamkos said he is aiming to return to the lineup on March 6, when the Lightning host the Sabres.

Stamkos said the X-ray taken on his bone "looks really good," however the Lightning are "playing it smart."

The 24-year-old suffered the injury on November 11.
