The Winnipeg Jets have re-signed defenceman Mark Stuart to a four-year contract extension worth a total of $10.5 million.

Stuart's three-year, $1.7 million-per contract expires at season's end, and the 29-year-old was scheduled to become an unrestricted free-agent at the end of this season.

He has scored two goals and notched seven assists in 50 games with the Jets this season, he is also plus-9.

Stuart was drafted 21st overall by the Boston Bruins at the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He has scored 21 goals and 47 assists in 478 career NHL games with the Bruins, Jets and Atlanta Thrashers.
