Minnesota Wild winger Mike Rupp has been suspended four games by the NHL's Department of Player Safety after a hit to the head of St. Louis Blues forward T.J. Oshie Thursday night.

Rupp connected with Oshie with a high hit after he made a quick cut towards centre. Oshie remained on the ice for a while before being helped to the bench and will not play tonight against the Dallas Stars.

Rupp was given a match penalty for the hit.

The Wild have one game remaining in the regular season meaning Rupp will have to sit out the first three games of the playoffs.

The 34-year-old has one assist in 13 games played this season.
