Anaheim Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf was a late scratch before Game 4 against the Dallas Stars on Wednesday.

The Ducks twitter account made the announcement less than an hour before game-time, saying he is day-to-day with an upper body injury.

Getzlaf left Dallas and flew back to Anaheim on Wednesday night to begin treatment on the injury.

In Game 1, Getzlaf suffered a deep facial laceration and received numerous stitches after taking a slapshot to the head. He returned to play the next two games.

In the first three games of the series, Getzlaf had two goals and two assists to lead the team in scoring with four points.
