Switzerland has lost forward Sven Baertschi for the rest of the World Championship after the Calgary Flames prospect suffered a fractured rib during a game on Friday against Russia.

Baertschi was hurt in the third period of a 5-0 loss and will be out of action for several weeks. The 21-year-old appeared in 26 games for the Flames this season and 41 with Abbotsford of the AHL.

To replace Baertschi, the Swiss added forward Benjamin Pluss, who plays for Fribourg-Gotteron of the Swiss A league.
