The Toronto Maple Leafs have teams interested in defenceman Cody Franson but would prefer to re-sign him.

According to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, the Maple Leafs have trade offers on the table for the 26-year-old, but none have been deemed acceptable by the team.

Franson tallied five goals and added 28 assists with a minus-20 rating over 79 games with the Maple Leafs in 2013-2014 season. He is coming off a one-year contract that paid him $2 million.

The Nashville Predators traded Franson to Toronto in July 2011.

Over 322 career games with the Predators and Maple Leafs, Franson has 28 goals and 105 assists for 133 points. He was drafted by the Predators in third round (79th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
