Senators re-sign F Michalek to three-year, $12M contract

The Ottawa Senators have re-signed forward Milan Michalek to a three-year contract worth an average annual value of $4 million.

Michalek has played the last four seasons with the Ottawa Senators after spending the first five years of his career in California with the San Jose Sharks.

In 82 games with the Senators in 2013-14, Michalek scored 17 goals and added 22 assists. He is coming off a six-year deal worth an average annual value of $4.33 million.

The 29-year-old forward has 187 goals and 207 assists for 394 points over 631 career games in the NHL.

Michalek, a native of Czech Republic, was drafted by San Jose sixth overall at the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
