The St. Louis Blues are reportedly taking restricted free agent forward Vladimir Sobotka to arbitration.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the team notified Sobotka of their decision after Saturday's deadline for the forward to file against the team passed.

The team and player could still come to an agreement before hearings begin in Toronto on July 20.

Sobotka, 27, had nine goals and 24 assists in 61 games with the Blues last season. The team tendered a qualifying offer of $1.4 million to him on June 30, the same amount that he earned last season.

Sobotka is coming out of a three-year, $3.9 million deal with St. Louis.
