After nearly six and a half seasons, Viktor Kozlov is on his way out of South Florida.
The Florida Panthers sent Kozlov to the New Jersey Devils for 23 year-old Christian Berglund and 20 year-old defenceman Victor Uchevatov.
``Viktor Kozlov is a skilled two-way player who brings size and strength to the centre position on our hockey club,'' Devils president Lou Lamoriello said in a release.
Kozlov, a 29 year-old forward, had 11 goals and 16 assists in 46 games with the Panthers this season. The two-time All-Star was drafted sixth overall by the San Jose Sharks in 1993. Kozlov has 130 goals in 588 career games.
Berglund has been troubled with an injured hip this season, though he's scored five points in 23 games with New Jersey, giving him 23 points in 76 career NHL games over the past three seasons. He's considered a responsible checking winger and was a second-round pick of the Devils in 1998.
Uchevatov is a 6'4", 225-pound stay-at-home defenceman who is already in his third season in the AHL after being drafted in the second round in 2001.
