Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - The Vancouver Canucks announced Wednesday that defenseman Andrew Alberts is expected to be sidelined 6-to-8 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a broken wrist.

Alberts, 29, suffered the injury when he blocked a shot in the second period of Monday's game at St. Louis.

He has recorded one goal and seven points in 42 games this season.
