Bruins defenceman Andrew Ference was scheduled to have a disciplinary hearing via phone with the National Hockey League at 11am et on Thursday for his hit to Canadiens centre Jeff Halpern in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference quarter-final series.

Halpern fell to the ice after taking a shoulder from Ference in the corner with 11:30 left in the third period. He was attended to by a trainer and helped off the ice. He returned to the game after a brief visit to the locker room.

"I didn't see the replay," Montreal coach Jacques Martin told reporters after the game. "You know, it's one of the incidents that happens during the game."

Ference was recently fined $2,500 by the league for his single-figured gesture in Game 4 of the series.

The NHL decided against disciplining teammate Milan Lucic for his hit on Jaroslav Spacek in Game 6 that drew a boarding major and a game misconduct.
