While he may not be participating in All-Star weekend, Sidney Crosby is skating as he attempts to once again return from concussion-related symptoms.

The Penguins star had been skating for nearly a week in both Atlanta and Los Angeles, prior to boarding a flight back to Pittsburgh on Friday morning.

Crosby missed nearly 11 months of action because of a concussion before returning in November.

In his season debut, Crosby recorded a four-point night in a win over the New York Islanders. However, his return only lasted eight games before he was sidelined again after a game against the Boston Bruins.

The Penguins captain, who has not played since December 5, consulted with neurological spine surgeon Dr. Robert S. Bray in California and chiropractor Ted Carrick in Atlanta. Carrick also specializes in neurological treatment.

Despite taking part in the on-ice workouts, there is no timetable set for Crosby's return to NHL action.
