The Vancouver Canucks confirmed on Friday that Daniel Sedin has a concussion.

The news came on the same day that Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Duncan Keith was suspended five games for elbowing Sedin during a game on Wednesday in Chicago.

Sedin flew home from Vancouver's road trip on Thursday to undergo tests.

It's not yet known how long the Swedish forward will be out of the line-up.

The Canucks beat Dallas 2-1 on Thursday in their first game without Sedin. He has a team-leading 30 goals along with 37 assists in 72 games this season.

The Canucks finish their road trip on Saturday in Colorado against the Avalanche. They return home Monday for a game against the Los Angeles Kings.
