The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that a group led by minority owner Tom Stillman is expected to close on its purchase of the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday, with Hall of Famer and former Blues captain Brett Hull re-joining the club in a management role.
According to the paper, Stillman's group will be paying $130 million for a package that includes the Blues and the AHL's Peoria Rivermen.
Former team chairman Dave Checketts was trying to sell the team over the last two years and had an arrangement to sell the it to Chicago businessman Matthew Hulsizer. The NHL ruled in January that the purchase agreement had been terminated, allowing Stillman the go-ahead.
The NHL Board of Governors' vote on the sale is to be completed Tuesday, prior to Wednesday's closing.
Hull, who played for 12 years with the Blues, worked parts of two seasons as general manager of the Dallas Stars.
