Edmonton Oilers general manager Steve Tambellini announced the team has issued qualifying offers to seven players.
Forwards Sam Gagner, Linus Omark and Chris VandeVelde along with defenceman Theo Peckham, Jeff Petry and Alex Plante, and goalie Devan Dubnyk were all extended offers.
The 22-year-old Gagner finished fourth on the Oilers with 18 goals and 47 points. The London, Ontario native completed his fifth season with the Oilers in 2011-12.
Dubnyk, a native of Regina, Saskatchewan posted a 2.67 goals against average and .914 save percentage and led the Oilers with 20 wins in 47 games in 2011-12. The 26-year old has started 91 games for the Oilers over parts of three years.
The 24-year-old Petry is coming off his first full season with the Oilers. The native of Ann Arbor, Michigan recorded 25 points in 73 games last season.
The qualifying offers allow the Oilers to retain the players as restricted free agents. The seven will now make the decision whether to accept or decline the offers.
