Forward Mathieu Darche has turned a two-way contract offer from the Montreal Canadiens and will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

"Thanks to all #Habs fans for your support and passion. Best in the NHL!!"," said Darche on his twitter account Wednesday.

Last season, Darche scored five goals and added seven assists for 12 points in 61 games.

He signed with the Canadiens as an unrestricted free agent in 2009.
