Goaltender Cory Schneider has agreed in principle to a three-year, $12 million deal with the Vancouver Canucks.
Last season, he had a 20-8-1 record in 33 appearances in a backup role to Roberto Luongo with the Canucks.
Schneider, who was slated to become a restricted free agent on July 1, had a 1.96 goals-against-average with a .937 save percentage.
In the Canucks first round playoff loss to the Los Angeles Kings, he replaced Luongo for the final three games, posting a 1-2 record with a GAA of 1.31 and a save percentage of .960.
Schneider was drafted by the Canucks in the first round (26th overall) in the 2004 Draft.
