The Montreal Canadiens signed restricted free agent forward Aaron Palushaj to a one-year, two-way contract on Thursday.

The 22-year-old split his time last season between the Canadiens and the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs. In 38 games with Montreal he had one goal and four assists, while in Hamilton he had 15 goals and 20 assists in 35 contests.

The native of Livonia, Michigan was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the second round of the 2007 Draft and was traded to the Canadiens for Matt D'Agostini in March, 2010.

Terms of the new deal were not released. According to capgeek.com, Palushaj earned $787,500 at the NHL level last season in the final year of his entry level contract.
