The Toronto Maple Leafs and forward Nikolai Kulemin have reached a contract agreement ahead of an arbitration hearing that was scheduled for July 26.

Kulemin agreed to a two-year deal worth an average of $2.8 million per season.

Kulemin made $2.2 million last season while scoring just seven goals and 21 assists before missing the last 12 games of the season with a broken finger. That down year followed his breakout season of 2010-11, when Kulemin scored 30 goals and added 27 assists for the Maple Leafs.

Kulemin was Toronto's second round pick, 44th overall, in the 2006 draft. He has 68 goals and 84 assists for 152 points in 303 NHL games.
