The Dallas Stars and defenceman Mark Fistric have settled on a one-year, $1.475 million contract to avoid a salary arbitration hearing that was scheduled for Aug. 1.

The 26-year-old restricted free agent will receive a raise over the $1.25 million that he earned last season, when he had two assists in 60 games for Dallas.

The 6'2", 233 lb Edmonton native just completed his fifth NHL season with the Stars.

He was Dallas' first round pick (28th overall) in the 2004 Draft.
