The Vancouver Canucks and forward Dale Weise avoided arbitration by agreeing to terms on a one-year contract, president and general manager Mike Gillis announced Wednesday.

Weise, 23, registered four goals, eight points and 81 penalty minutes in 68 games with the Canucks during the 2011-12 season.

In 78 career NHL games with the Canucks and New York Rangers, Wiese has registered eight points and 100 penalty minutes.
