The Vancouver Canucks and forward Dale Weise avoided arbitration by agreeing to terms on a one-year contract, president and general manager Mike Gillis announced Wednesday.
Weise, 23, registered four goals, eight points and 81 penalty minutes in 68 games with the Canucks during the 2011-12 season.
In 78 career NHL games with the Canucks and New York Rangers, Wiese has registered eight points and 100 penalty minutes.
The Winnipeg, MB, native was originally selected by the Rangers in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft in the fourth round, 111th overall.
