The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Thursday that the club has signed 2011 first-round draft pick Tyler Biggs to a three-year entry level contract.
The six-foot-two, 210-pound Biggs spent last season with Miami of the CCHA, scoring nine goals and 17 points in 37 games. He played the previous two seasons with the U.S. under-18 national team development program.
His father, Don Biggs, was drafted in 1983 by Minnesota (156th overall) and played 11 games for Philadelphia in 1987.
