Edmonton Oilers prospect Nail Yakupov is reportedly fighting an infection in his legs after he was hurt when he fell off a treadmill this week.

The Edmonton Journal says that Yakupov suffered the injury on Monday when he was working out with Oilers conditioning coach Simon Bennett.

The first-overall pick from the NHL Draft in June was supposed to skate at a pro camp on Tuesday and Wednesday, but did not appear on the ice.

The Journal says there was no report on when Yakupov might resume training.
