In anticipation of an upcoming lockout, the Philadelphia Flyers assigned 26 players to their AHL affiliate and assigned three to their junior teams, the team announced Saturday.
Among those assigned to the AHL's Adirondack Phantoms were forwards Sean Couturier and Brayden Schenn.
Drafted 11th overall by the Flyers in 2011, Couturier played 77 regular season and 11 playoff games in Philadelphia as a 19-year-old.
The 21-year-old Schenn appeared in 54 regular season and 11 playoff games for the Flyers in 2012-12, totaling 15 goals and 27 points.
Besides Couturier and Schenn, the Flyers also assigned the following players to Adirondack: Jason Akeson, Tyler Brown, Cullen Eddy, Matt Ford, Erik Gustafsson, Shane Harper, Cal Heeter, Ben Holmstrom, Tyler Hostetter, Niko Hovinen, Andrew Johnston, Blake Kessel, Matthew Konan, Oliver Lauridsen, Matt Mangene, Brandon Manning, Tye McGinn, Marcel Noebels, Luke Pither, Zac Rinaldo, Danny Syvret, Mike Testwuide, Eric Wellwood, Harry Zolnierczyk
In addition to the AHL moves, the Flyers assigned Nick Cousins, Scott Laughton and Derek Mathers to their junior clubs.
