New Jersey Devils' defenceman Anton Volchenkov is the latest National Hockey League player to be injured overseas during the lockout.

A day after Boston Bruins' goaltender Tuukka Rask reinjured his groin, Volchenkov, who is playing with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in the KHL, fractured a bone in his left foot.

Devils' general manager Lou Lamoriello told the Bergen Record that he expected the defenceman to miss four to six weeks. Volchenkov's agent Jay Grossman felt that the 30-year-old could return sooner.

"[Torpedo's] doctors have told him that it's not expected he would miss that much time," Grossman told the Bergen Record. "It just depends on how he responds."

Volchenkov has played three games in the KHL since signing earlier in the month.
