The Hamilton Bulldogs will have to play at least the next month of the season without one of their most skilled players in the lineup.

Centre Louis Leblanc is expected to miss 4-6 weeks of action due to a high ankle sprain that he suffered in an October 20 contest against the Toronto Marlies at Ricoh Coliseum.

In the 5-0 loss, the Pointe-Claire, Quebec native was injured in the second period when he got tangled in the corner with Marlies defenceman Jesse Blacker. Both men received fighting majors during the altercation.

Leblanc has two goals in three games so far this season for the Bulldogs, who are currently last in the North Division with four points.

Last season Leblanc split time between the Bulldogs and the Montreal Canadiens. In 42 NHL games he had five goals and 10 points while in 31 games in the AHL he contributed 11 goals and 22 points.
