With CBA talks between the NHL and NHL Players' Association reaching a possible conclusion, the Minnesota Wild aren't taking any chances with their top prospect.

According to Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Wild pulled centre Mikael Granlund pulled from the Houston Aeros lineup after warmups on Saturday so that they do not risk him suffering any injuries.

Granlund, 20, has eight goals and 21 points in 21 AHL games this season.

The Finnish centre, who is expected to be the Wild's second-line centre to start the season, was taken ninth overall by the Wild in the 2010 NHL Draft.
