The Detroit Red Wings have recalled forward Gustav Nyquist, replacing injured veteran winger Mikael Samuelsson in the lineup.

Samuelsson aggravated his injured groin in Monday's win against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Nyquist has 14 goals and 26 assists in 39 games with the Grand Rapids Griffins this season. He appeared in 18 regular-season games with the Red Wings last season, recording one goal and six assists. In four playoff games, he was scoreless.

The Red Wings also signed defenceman Kent Huskins on Tuesday in place of blue liner Carlo Colaiacovo, who was placed on Injured Reserve with a shoulder injury he suffered in Columbus.

Winger Todd Bertuzzi was also added to the Injured Reserve on Tuesday. The veteran is suffering from flu-like symptoms.
