A deal that would have seen unrestricted free agent forward Jason Arnott sign with the New York Rangers was not finialized.

According to TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.com Arnott wasn't cleared by Rangers' doctors.

Arnott and the Rangers had agreed to a one-year deal worth somewhere between $1.6-$1.7 million on Saturday and Arnott headed to New York for his physical, which he ultimately did not pass.

Arnott had 17 goals and 17 assists with the St. Louis Blues last season. In 1,244 career regular-season games, Arnott has 417 goals and 938 points. In 122 postseason games, he has 32 goals and 73 points and won a Stanley Cup with the New Jersey Devils in 2000.
