Rangers send Rupp to Wild for Powe, Palmieri

The New York Rangers have traded veteran forward Mike Rupp to the Minnesota Wild for forwards Darroll Powe and Nick Palmieri.

The 33-year-old Rupp has no goals in eight games this season.  In 565 career regular season games, he has 53 goals and 41 assists.

Powe has zero points in eight games.  Last season, the centre scored six goals and posted seven assists in 82 games played.

Palmieri, who was selected 79th overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, has 21 points in 40 games with Houston of the NHL this season.  The 23-year-old has 25 total points in 87 career NHL games.  He will be assigned to the Rangers' AHL affiliate in Connecticut
