The Florida Panthers placed goaltender Jose Theodore on injured reserve on Sunday and he could be out for a minimum of six weeks with a lower body injury.

Theodore was injured early in Saturday's game against the Carolona Hurricanes, leaving the ice without putting any weight on his right leg.

More medical evaluation is likely before an exact prognosis is made.

Jacob Markstrom was called up from San Antonio of the AHL on Sunday.
