Corey Perry of the Anaheim Ducks is scheduled for a phone hearing with NHL officials on Wednesday for his hit on Jason Zucker of the Minnesota Wild in the second period of Tuesday's game.

Because the hearing is over the phone and not in person, any possible suspension will not be more than five games.

Zucker passed the puck back to the point in the Ducks' zone when Perry's shoulder or elbow appeared to make contact with Zucker's head.

The Ducks' forward was assessed a major penalty for interference and a game misconduct on the play.

Zucker laid on the ice for several minutes before requiring assistance to leave the ice. He did not return to the game.

Perry has been suspended once before in his NHL career, a four-game ban for elbowing Philadelphia Flyers forward Claude Giroux in 2009.
