Ottawa Senators forward Milan Michalek is having surgery to repair his troublesome right knee.

General manager Bryan Murray told the media on Tuesday that Michalek was in New York to have the procedure done.

Michalek missed 10 games with the injury before returning for two games in March, but he wasn't able to play through the injury.

In 15 games this season, the 28-year-old has two goals and eight assists.

There is no word from the team as to how long the forward will be out of the lineup.
