The Carolina Hurricanes will reportedly be without the services of goaltender Dan Ellis for the next 7-10 days.

According to the Raleigh News & Observer, Ellis is expected to be sidelined for about a week after suffering a cut near his knee in Thursday's 4-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils.

The team is already without Cam Ward, who is expected to miss the rest of the regular season with an MCL sprain. Justin Peters would likely be the No. 1 goaltender until Ellis is healthy.

According to the newspaper report, the Hurricanes will call up John Muse of the American Hockey League's Charlotte Checkers.
