The streaking Pittsburgh Penguins could get Evgeni Malkin back soon but could lose Kris Letang again.

Malkin who was placed on injured reserve Sunday, retroactive to March 10, with an upper body injury, is expected to be back in the lineup soon.

However, defenceman Kris Letang has suffered a broken toe, and was placed on the injured reserve Wednesday.

Letang was placed on injured reserve on Monday but activated in time for Tuesday's game against the Montreal Canadiens, prompting the demotion of defenceman Simon Depres.

With Letang being placed back on injured reserve, Depres has been called back up.

Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury, meanwhile, is battling a sore neck. He has been listed as day-to-day with Tomas Vokoun expected to draw the start Thursday against Winnipeg.

The Penguins blanked the Canadiens, 1-0 to extend their win streak to 13 games.
