According to TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie, it's expected that Nashville Predators general manager David Poile will be named the GM of Team USA for next year's Sochi Olympics.

USA Hockey is set to announce its management team and coaching staff for the Winter Games next Saturday in New York City.

Poile was the assistant to Brian Burke at the Vancouver 2010 Games but since Burke isn't currently employed as an NHL general manager he wasn't considered for the role this time.

The Americans won silver in Vancouver after losing to Canada in overtime in the gold medal game.

Poile has been Nashville's only general manager since the club came into existence in 1998-99.
