The Vancouver Canucks have placed defenceman Keith Ballard on waivers.
Ballard could be bought out by the club if he goes unclaimed.
The 30-year-old defenceman scored two assists in 36 games with the Canucks in 2012-13.
Ballard is entering the fifth year of a six-year deal he signed with the Florida Panthers prior to the 2009-10 season worth an average annual value of $4.2 million.
Originally selected 11th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Ballard has scored 36 goals and 129 assists in 545 career NHL games with the Canucks, Florida Panthers and Phoenix Coyotes.
