The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed goaltender Jonathan Bernier to a two-year, $5.8 million contract.

The Leafs picked up Bernier in a deal with the Kings in exchange for forward Matt Frattin, goaltender Ben Scrivens and a second-round pick in either the 2014 or 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Bernier played in 14 regular-season games for the Los Angeles Kings in 2012-13, compiling a 9-3-1 record with a GAA of 1.88 and a .922 save percentage.

Bernier was selected in the first round, 11th overall of the 2006 NHL entry Draft by the Kings.

He has appeared in 62 career regular-season games for the Kings and currently has a 29-20-6 career record.

Bernier made $1.525 million in the final year of a two-year deal last season.
