The Ottawa Senators announced Friday that the club has signed free agent forward Ludwig Karlsson to a two-year entry-level contract.

Karlsson has spent the past two seasons with the Northeastern University Huskies in Division I NCAA, where he has recorded 34 points in 49 career games.

The 6-3, 200-pound native of Stockholm, Sweden, was limited to 17 games due to a mid-season wrist injury that required season-ending surgery. Karlsson recorded five goals and three assists for eight points during his sophomore season in 2012-13.

Karlsson was recently invited to attend the Nashville Predators annual development camp this summer after attending the Anaheim Ducks development camp in 2012.
