The Buffalo Sabres have signed forward Cody Hodgson to a long-term multi-year contract extension, the club announced Wednesday.
The 23-year-old restricted free agent appeared in all 48 games last season, finishing second among all Sabres skaters with 15 goals and 34 points.
"We are extremely excited to have signed Cody to a long-term deal," Sabres general manager Darcy Regier said. "We feel he is going to be an important piece of our organization's success in the future and look forward to watching him develop as a player."
In parts of four NHL seasons, the Toronto, Ontario native appeared in 139 games between the Sabres and Vancouver Canucks, tallying 35 goals and 42 assists.
