Detroit Red Wings prospect Teemu Pulkkinen is scheduled for an in-person hearing with the NHL for his hit on Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Mike Kostka on Tuesday.

An in-person hearing means there is a possibility any suspension could be five games or more.

Early in the first period, Kostka was gaining possession of the puck and coming out from behind his own net when he was hit into the end boards. A scrum ensued with Kostka laying hurt on the ice.

Kostka left the game and did not return.

Pulkkinen was assessed a five-minute major penalty for boarding and a game misconduct on the play.
