Detroit Red Wings prospect Teemu Pulkkinen has been suspended four pre-season games for his hit on Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Mike Kostka on Tuesday.

Early in the first period, Kostka was gaining possession of the puck and coming out from behind his own net when he was hit into the end boards. A scrum ensued with Kostka laying hurt on the ice.

Kostka left the game and did not return.

Pulkkinen was assessed a five-minute major penalty for boarding and a game misconduct on the play.
