The Edmonton Oilers have placed forward Ryan Jones on waivers.

The 29-year-old, who is set to make $1.5 million this season, recorded two goals and five assists in 27 games last season, after missing the start of the year with an eye injury.

The gritty forward recorded 18 goals during the 2010-11 season, and 17 goals in the 2011-12 season.

Other teams have until Thursday at Noon et to claim Jones.
